Welcome to the Library Committee Blog

Welcome to The Owl's Bookshelf- the Library Committee Blog.  Here our committee will be posting the activities accomplished by this committee as well as other related topics.

The blog will also present information about books and other resources that can enhance the courses you teach or are taking from our program.

The main duties of this committee are first to prepare a bibliography of the new materials that have been acquired by our library.  We will also make a list of those resources that are needed by our faculty in their courses so they can be acquired by our library professors.

Several activities have been organized for this academic year. The goal is that the departmental committee becomes the link with faculty and students and the library professors of UPRH so our students have the best academic experience.  Basically our committee has set four main activities to accomplish this goal.  They are:
  1. To assess the materials acquired by the library in recent years to see how they have been used in our courses.
  2.    To conduct a study in a chosen course to see if the needs of books and other resources are met by our library.
  3.       Conduct a study with BA students to see if they make use of the library and suggestions so their experience is one that fulfills their academic needs.
  4.     The creation of this blog to inform faculty and students what our committee is doing to fulfill the goals set this year.
This year the Library Committee is composed of three members.  They are:
  • Dr. Aida Caceres
  • Prof. Artemio Penalbert
  • Prof. Carmen Milagros Torres
Here is some information of the Library Committee Members:
